In ihren Fotografien
und Videoarbeiten konzentriert sich Ana Bilankov auf Leerstellen, auf
Ungewissheiten und ein „Dazwischen-sein“. In Oberwelt wird
sie ihre Moskau-Videos zeigen, in denen sie ihren Blick auf die Psyche
einer Gesellschaft nach der Erfahrung des Scheiterns von Utopien richtet.
Die in Zagreb, Kroatien geborene Ana Bilankov lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
Sie studierte Kunstgeschichte und Germanistik in Zagreb und Mainz, künstlerische
Fotografie in Wiesbaden und Postgraduierten Studium „Kunst im Kontext“
an der Universität der Künste in Berlin. Sie hatte Atelierstipendien
unter anderem in Bristol, Moskau und den USA.

Ana Bilankov: Contour me
In her photographs and videos Ana Bilankov concentrates on empty places,
on uncertainties and on a state of “inbetweenness”. In Oberwelt
she will show her Moscow videos, in which she focuses her gaze on the
psyche of a society following its experience of failed utopia. In the
found photographs, which are both archetypical images of violence and
borrowings from a somehow alien and other experience, the gestures of
remoulding undertaken by an unknown hand change our perception. It reveals
our need to take a stand and to stabilize a fragile structure.
Ana Bilankov, who was born in Zagreb in Croatia, lives and works in
Berlin. She studied art history and German in Zagreb and Mainz, art
photography in Wiesbaden and took the postgraduate course of study “art
in context” at the University of the Arts in Berlin. She has had
studio scholarships in, among other places, Bristol, Moscow and in the
USA.
