(english) Die Ausstellung zeigt große Ansätze und kleine Versuche zur Verbesserung der Welt mit verschiedensten Medien und Methoden. So initiiert die Künstlerin inmitten der Ausstellung einen täglich für alle offenen Strickkreis als aktualisierte Neuauflage eines altbewährten Handlungsmodells und lädt Kunstfreunde und Strickfreunde ein, sich zu beteiligen. Aus Wollresten, Fleiß, Gesprächen und Überlegungen entsteht ein kollektives Produkt, das international weitergereicht wird - der Beginn einer weltweiten konstruktiven Gemeinschaftsarbeit.

Beim Nachdenken über die Welt sind wir mit unendlichen und nicht zu begreifenden komplexen Problemen konfrontiert - und somit mit der Frage nach den Möglichkeiten des eigenen Handelns. Was sollen wir tun? STRICKEN FÜR DEN GUTEN ZWECK bietet das Equipment zum gemeinsamen produktiven Nachdenken. Es schafft ein Setting als aktualisierte Neuauflage eines altbewährten Handlungsmodells:
zusammensitzen, gemeinsam über Gott und die Welt nachdenken, den eigenen Standpunkt reflektieren, Strategien entwickeln und dabei produktiv tätig sein. STRICKEN FÜR DEN GUTEN ZWECK lädt ein, Quadrate zu stricken. Es stellt ein Strickkreis-Set zur Verfügung, das weltweit eingesetzt werden kann. So entsteht in global-kollektiver Handarbeit mit überschaubarem Anspruch die Decke für die Welt, tröstlich und wärmend. Das gemeinschaftliche Stricken von Patchwork-Decken für „Krisengebiete in aller Welt“ gründet auf einer langen und erfolgreichen Tradition. In unzähligen Strickkreisen wird „für den guten Zweck“ gestrickt, und, neben Wolldecken, vor allem Gemeinschaft, Freude und Befriedigung produziert. Auch STRICKEN FÜR DEN GUTEN ZWECK verfolgt diese Ziele. Der Strickkreis lädt ein zur Kompensation des Wollens mit Hilfe von Wolle. Sind die Bedürfnisse gestillt, wird die aus Wollresten, Fleiß, Gesprächen und Überlegungen entstandene Decke für die Welt mit dem gesamten Strickkreis-Set zusammengepackt und an den nächsten Strick-Ort weitergereicht, wo weiter gedacht, gesprochen und gestrickt wird. Die Decke für die Welt wird größer. Als multifunktionale Skulptur ist sie Allgemeingut und kann jederzeit zur Nutzung für einen guten Zweck ausgeliehen werden.

Using various media and methods, this exhibition presents both large-scale approaches and small-scale endeavours for making the world a better place. In the midst of the exhibition, the artist will set up a public knitting circle as a modernized version of the traditional activity and invites friends of art and knitting to participate. Leftover wool, industriousness, discussion and deliberation all contribute to the creation a collective product that will be passed on internationally - it marks the beginning of a constructive global communal work.

When contemplating on the world, we are confronted with never-ending and incomprehensibly complex problems · consequently we also ponder the scope of our own actions. What should we do? KNITTING FOR A GOOD CAUSE facilitates joint productive contemplation. It creates a setting for a modernized version of a traditional activity: Sitting together, contemplating about everything under the sun, reflecting on one·s own position, developing strategies and at the same time being productive. KNITTING FOR A GOOD CAUSE invites you to knit squares. It provides a ·knitting circle set· that can be used worldwide. In this way, the blanket for the world, comforting and warming, is being handcrafted by a global-collective that has manageable goals. Collectively knitting patchwork blankets for ·crisis areas of the world· has a long and successful history. In countless knitting circles people knit ·for good causes· and over and above producing woolen blankets they also generate community spirit, pleasure and satisfaction. KNITTING FOR A GOOD CAUSE pursues the same goals. The knitting circle is an invitation to compensate our wants with wool. Once these needs are satisfied, the blanket for the world · a product of leftover wool, industriousness, discussions and deliberations · is packed up together with the entire ·knitting circle set· and then sent on to the next knitting location, where the deliberations, discussions and knitting is continued. The blanket for the world conitinues to grow. As a multifunctional sculpture it is common property that can be borrowed at any time for a good cause.
