(english) In der Serie „Plastikland“ beschäftigt sich Renate Liebel mit den medialen Grenzen der Landschaftsmalerei. Dabei setzt sie ihren Körper und dessen Bewegung als Pinsel ein. Künstliche Alltagsgegenstände und Materialien aus dem Hausgebrauch oder vom Baumarkt, die sie im eigenen Haushalt oder am Ausstellungsort - in diesem Fall die Oberwelt und ihre Abstellkammer Dein Klub - vorfindet, übernehmen die Funktion der Farbe im Raum, welcher als Bildträger genutzt wird.

Wie in der klassischen Malerei werden die Materialien schichtenweise auf die Bildebene im Raum aufgetragen und erzeugen so neue malerische Wirklichkeitsebenen. Dieser installative Prozess wird immer fotografisch dokumentiert, der performative Prozess manchmal mit Video. Nach der Aktion ist vom Eingriff in die Landschaft nicht mehr viel sichtbar. Nur die Dokumentation, die als Fotoarbeit oder Video präsentiert wird, und das installierte Objekt/Material bleiben übrig und werden im besten Fall zur Einrichtung eines Zimmers, die in den Landschaftsbildern, die an seinen Wänden hängen, wieder auftaucht.

In her series "Plastikland" Renate Liebel explores the medial boundaries of landscape painting. To do so, she uses her body and its movement as a brush. Synthetic everyday household objects and materials from a hardware store, found in her own home or in the exhibition space - in this case the Oberwelt Gallery and its broom cupboard Dein Klub (Your Club) - take on the role of colour in the space that is used as a canvas.

As in classical painting, the materials are applied in layers to the surface of the image in space, thus creating new painterly layers of reality. The installative process is always documented with photographs; the perfomative process is sometimes documented by video. Once the intervention in the landscape is completed, all that remains visible is the documentation, in the form of photography or video, and the installed object/material, which at best becomes furnishings of a room, which reappear in the landscape images hung on its walls.
