Fredrik Lindqvist beschäftigt sich überwiegend mit dem Holzschnitt.

Viele Einzelplatten werden vom Künstler auf unterschiedliche einfarbige und gemusterte Stoffe gedruckt und anschließend mit einem groben Faden zusammengenäht.

Motive aus Popmagazinen, Tierbüchern und der Fantasie schießen scheinbar von allen Ecken ins Bild hinein.

Ob beeinflusst von der Hardrock Band Van Halen oder vom Vorlesen von Märchen für seine beiden Kinder stehen in den starkfarbigen und kontrastreichen Stoff-Objekten Freude und Spiel im Kontrast zu merkwürdigen und etwas unheimlichen Situationen.

Fredrik Lindqvist hat in Schweden und Düsseldorf studiert, wo er auch bekannt ist, er lebt und arbeitet in Ingolstadt.

woodcuts on fabric, objects and installations

Fredrik Lindqvist works primarily with the technique of woodcut.

The artist prints numerous individual wooden plates onto different single-coloured and patterned fabrics, which are then sewn together with a thick thread.

Motifs originating from pop magazines, animal books and the artist’s imagination seem to shoot into the image from every direction.

Whether influenced by the hard rock band Van Halen or by reading fairytales to his two children, fun and play stand in stark contrast to strange and somewhat uncanny situations in the brightly coloured and richly contrasting fabric objects.

Fredrik Lindqvist studied in Sweden and Düsseldorf, where he is well-known. He lives and works in Ingolstadt.
