(english)Die britische Künstlerin Victoria Turnbull lädt alle Besucher ein, mit ihr und ihrem Koffer boxen zu trainieren.
Ihr Koffer - Werkzeug für Erkundung und Freiheit, aber auch Zeichen von Fremdheit und Ortslosigkeit - wird zum Punching Bag. Boxhandschuhe sind vorhanden.

Die Künstlerin lebt momentan zwischen Stuttgart und London, während sie in Deutschland und Mitteleuropa reist.
Die boxenden Besucher helfen ihr, die damit verbundenen gemischten Gefühle zu untersuchen.

Auch Zeichnungen von achtlos zusammengeworfenem "Inventar aller Objekte in meinem Atelier" nehmen Bezug auf Bewegung und Orte.

Victoria Turnbull ist Absolventin der Norwich School of Art. Ihre Zeichnungen, Installationen und Performances wurden unter anderem ausgestellt in der Whitchapel Gallery, der National Portrait Gallery und dem Camden Arts Centre in London, sowie im Würrtembergischen Kunstverein und dem Kunstraum 34 in Stuttgart. 2012 erhielt sie den Islington Exhibits Artists Award für ihre Arbeit „The drawn Inventory of all the objects in my studio“.

In ihrer Arbeit beschäftigt sie sich häufig mit Gebrauchsgegenständen und entdeckt dabei eine persönliche Poetik in der alltäglichen Anordnung und Benutzung der Objekte.

THE SUITCASE PUNCHING BAG

The British artist Victoria Turnball invites the exhibition visitors to join her and her suitcase in a round of boxing.
Her suitcase–a tool for exploration and freedom, but also a sign of foreignness and placelessness–is the punching bag. Boxing gloves are provided.
The artist is currently living between Stuttgart and London, while travelling in Germany and Central Europe. The boxing visitors help her to examine the mixed feelings associated with this.
Her drawings of the carelessly thrown together “inventory of all the objects in my studio” also reference movement and place.

Victoria Turnball is a graduate of the Norwich School of Art. Her drawings, installations and performances have been exhibited, among other places, at the Whitechapel Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and the Camden Arts Centre in London as well as at the Würtembergischen Kunstverein and Kunstraum 34 in Stuttgart. In 2012, she received the Islington Exhibits Artists Award for her work “The drawn inventory of all the objects in my studio”.

In her work she often examines everyday objects and in the process discovers personal poetics in the commonplace arrangement and utilisation of these objects.
