Corona in Kinshasa / Demokratische Republik Kongo - die Künstler*innen Orakle Ngoy und Zépé Zanda erzählen in zwei Videostatements von der aktuellen Situation. Auf Einladung von Astrid S. Klein (quartier flottant) und Oberwelt e.V.

Kinshasa - eine Megapolis mit über 12 Millionen Menschen in Quarantäne. In einer Stadt, in der die meisten Menschen ihre Lebensgrundlage in informeller Ökonomie verdienen und damit auf Sozialkontakte und Mobilität angewiesen sind, soll man sich nicht mehr aus seinem Viertel bewegen. Das Wirtschafts- und Verwaltungszentrum der Hauptstadt ist abgeriegelt. Der Großteil der Bevölkerung glaubt nicht an die Existenz eines Virus. Sie tragen die Masken, die sie kaufen müssen, nur, um nicht von der Polizei schikaniert zu werden.
Vielen ist die Lebensgrundlage entzogen und sie wissen nicht, wie es weitergehen soll. Gleichzeitig wird im Radio und TV der Prozess der 100 Tage übertragen, ein Prozess über einen großen Veruntreuungsskandal des Kabinettschefs des Präsidenten. Zudem gibt es ungeklärte Todesfälle, wie den des Vorsitzenden Richters. Ist es Covid-19 oder Gift? Die Gerichtsverhandlung scheint eine bittere Soap zu sein, in der alles kulminiert. Von dieser ökonomisch, politisch und gesundheitlich prekären Lage sind die Frauen und die Künstler*innen besonders betroffen.
Die Rapperin Orakle Ngoy (Afrika Diva Collectif) und der Filmemacher Zépé Zanda (Collectif Mind) erzählen in ihren beiden Videofilmen von dieser aktuellen Situation im Juni 2020.
In Sous les masques - Unter den Masken ergreift Orakle Ngoy, gemeinsam mit der Musikerin Nelia Iyenga und Händlerinnen auf dem Markt, das Wort - die Frauen sind die Stimme der Krise.
Zépé Zanda beleuchtet in Stigmatisation - Stigmatisierung diese unsichere Zeit in einem Interview mit der Malerin Prisca Tankwey, in Bildern des Veruntreuungsprozesses und setzt dies in Beziehung zu Symbolen des kulturellen Reichtums des Kongos und der Hoffnung auf soziale Veränderung.

Die Videos werden an diesem Abend ihre Premiere in der deutschen Fassung haben.

Corona in Kinshasa / Democratic Republic of the Congo - the artists Orakle Ngoy et Zépé Zanda discuss the current situation in two video statements.

At the invitation of Astrid S. Klein (quartier flottant) and Oberwelt e.V.

Kinshasa - a megacity with over 12 million people in quarantine. In a city where most people earn their living in an informal economy and are therefore dependent on social contacts and mobility, they should not move out of your neighbourhood. The business and administrative district of the capital is locked down. The majority of the population does not believe in the existence of the virus. They wear the masks they have to buy only to avoid being harassed by the police.
Many are deprived of their livelihood and they do not know what to do next. At the same time the Hundred Days Trial is being broadcast on radio and TV, a trial about a big embezzlement scandal involving the head of the president's cabinet. There are also unexplained deaths, such as that of the presiding judge. Is it Covid-19 or poison? The trial seems like a bitter soap where everything will culminate.
Women and artists are particularly affected by these precarious economic, political and health conditions.
In their two video films, rapper Orakle Ngoy (Afrika Diva Collectif) and filmmaker Zépé Zanda (Collectif Mind) discuss this current situation.

Covid-19 à Kinshasa / République démocratique du Congo - les artistes Orakle Ngoy et Zépé Zanda parlent dans deux vidéos de la situation actuelle.

À l'invitation de Astrid S. Klein (quartier flottant) et Oberwelt e.V.

Kinshasa - une mégapole avec plus de 12 millions de personnes en quarantaine. Dans une ville où la plupart des gens gagnent leur vie dans une économie informelle et sont donc dépendants des contacts sociaux et de la mobilité, les gens ne devraient pas quitter leur quartier. Le centre économique et administratif de la capitale est sous confinement total. La majorité de la population ne croit pas à l'existence d'un virus. Ils portent les masques qu'ils doivent acheter juste pour éviter d'être harcelés par la police.
Beaucoup sont privés de leurs moyens de subsistance et ne savent pas quoi faire ensuite. En même temps, le procès des 100 jours est diffusé à la radio et à la télévision, un procès concernant un grand scandale de détournement de fonds du chef de cabinet du president. Il y a aussi des morts inexplicées, comme celle du président du procès. S'agit-il de Covid-19 ou de poison ? Le procès ressemble à un Soap amer où tout culmine.
Les femmes et les artistes sont particulièrement touchées par ces situation économique, politique et sanitaire précaire.
Dans leurs films vidéo, la rappeuse Orakle Ngoy (Collectif Afrika Diva) et le cinéaste Zépé Zanda (Collectif Mind) parlent de cette situation actuelle en juin 2020.
