(english version) „BOMBART“ ist ein Kunstprojekt von Peter Harris und Mark Stewart: Flankiert von audio-visuellen Arbeiten bilden die »Hybrid-Paintings« die Verschmelzung des Porträtierten mit seinen Einflüssen: Es sind mutierte Darstellungen von Mark Stewart und anderen Nonkonformisten aus Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, wie z.B. Michel Foucault, Joris-Karl Huysmans, Andy Warhol, Samuel Beckett oder Lee Perry.

Peter Harris ist Künstler, Filmemacher und Musiker und experimentiert mit unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten des Selbstporträts, von denen er viele in Kollaborationen umsetzt. Das aktuelle Projekt mit Mark Stewart setzt diese Praxis fort und erforscht diese tiefer gehende Zusammenarbeit in einer fortlaufenden Serie.

Seit der Gründung von The Pop Group gilt Mark Stewart als Legende. Seine Arbeit war und ist Inspiration für viele Musiker wie z.B. Nick Cave, Massive Attack, Tricky und Adrian Sherwood. Als Künstler, Sänger, Produzent und Songschreiber bewegt er sich bis heute an der Grenze von Musik und Kunst.

‘BOMBART’ is an art project by Peter Harris and Mark Stewart. Flanked by audio-visual works, the ‘Hybrid Paintings’ are a combination of the sitter and his influences: they are mutated depictions of Mark Stewart and other nonconformists from the past and present, e.g. Michel Foucault, Joris-Karl Huysmans, Andy Warhol, Samuel Beckett and Lee Perry.

Peter Harris is an artist, film-maker and musician, who experiments with different ways of making self-portraits, many of which become collaborations. This current project with Mark Stewart continues this practice, exploring a more in-depth collaboration through an ongoing series.

Mark Stewart has been considered a legend since the founding of The Pop Group. His work has been and continues to be an inspiration to many musicians, including Nick Cave, Massive Attack, Tricky and Adrian Sherwood. As an artist, singer, producer and songwriter, he continues to operate at the frontiers of music and art.

Unfortunately, Mark Stewart will not be able to attend.
