(english version, version francais) Wie können wir der Gewalt der industriellen Plantage und der Extraktion natürlicher Rohstoffe alternative Perspektiven und Handlungen entgegensetzen? Gibt es eine Wiederbelebung einer lebenswerten Welt jenseits destruktiver Praktiken, jenseits der Ausbeutung und der Kapitalisierung alles Lebendigen und ihrer ideologischen Grundlagen? Welche Verhandlungen sind dazu möglich und mit welchen Partner:innen?

Mit dem Begriff Resurgence*(Wiederaufleben) nähert sich die Künstlerin diesen Fragen. In der Ausstellung zeigt sie Fotografien und Aufzeichnungen ihrer Forschung der letzten Jahre in Herbarien und Botanischen Gärten und in der ehemaligen kolonialen belgischen Agrarforschungsstation in Yangambi, Demokratische Republik Kongo. Spuren von Begegnungen, Gesprächen und Interviews werden sichtbar.

Am 20.10.23 wird in der Ausstellung um 19 Uhr das Hörstück "To the Red Soil" als temporäre Audioinstallation voraufgeführt und die um 22 Uhr anschließende Premiere im Cashmere Radio Berlin gefeiert (cashmereradio.com und auf 88.4 Mhz in Berlin / 90.7 Mhz Potsdam).

*Resurgence ist nach Anna L. Tsing das Werk vieler Organismen, die über ihre Unterschiede hinweg verhandeln, um inmitten von Störungen artenreiche Lebensgemeinschaften zu schaffen.

How do we counter the violence of industrial plantations and the extraction of natural resources with alternative perspectives and actions? Is there a way to revive a liveable world beyond destructive practices, beyond the exploitation and capitalisation of all living things and their ideological foundations? What negotiations are possible to help achieve this and with which partners?

Taking up the term ‘RESURGENCE’,* the artist approaches these questions. In this exhibition she presents photographs and recordings from research she has carried out over recent years in herbaria and botanical gardens, as well as in the former Belgian colonial agronomic research station at Yangambi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Traces of encounters, conversations and interviews become visible.

On 20 October 2023 at 7 pm the audio piece To the Red Soil will be previewed in the exhibition as a temporary audio installation, and its subsequent première at 10 pm on Cashmere Radio Berlin celebrated ( at 88.4 Mhz in Berlin / 90.7 Mhz Potsdam and cashmereradio.com).

Comment pouvons-nous proposer des perspectives et des actions alternatives face à la violence de la plan- tation industrielle et de l’extraction des ressources naturelles ? €Est-il possible de faire renaître un monde vivable, au-delà des pratiques destructrices, au-delà de l’exploitation et de la capitalisation du vivant et de ses fondements idéologiques ? Quelles négociations sont envisageables à ce sujet et avec quel·le·s partenaires ?

L’artiste aborde ces questions en utilisant la notion de RESURGENCE*. Dans cette exposition, elle présente des photographies et des enregistrements issus d’une recherche qu’elle a menée ces dernières années dans des herbiers et des jardins botaniques, ainsi que dans l’ancienne station de recherche agronomique colonia- le belge à Yangambi, en République démocratique du Congo. Les traces qu’ont laissées ces rencontres, ces entretiens et ces interviews deviennent ainsi visibles.

La pièce audio To the Red Soil sera présentée en avant- première le 20 octobre 2023 à 19 h dans le cadre de l’exposition sous la forme d’une installation audio tem- poraire et la première sera fêtée à 22 h sur Cashmere Radio Berlin (sur 88.4 MHz à Berlin/90.7 MHz Potsdam et cashmereradio.com).
