(english version below) Das Projekt healing theatre happening - performing the archive ist eine Performance der Künstlerinnen Julia Schmutz (Bildende Künstlerin) und Petra Weimer (Schauspielerin und Gründungsmitglied des Healing Theatre). Aus Aufführungsmitschnitten, Programmheften, Fotografien, Fotokopien und Probenplänen entsteht ein dynamisches Archiv – ein Begegnungsort für gegenwärtige künstlerische Arbeit.

Ausgangspunkt für die performative Installation ist ein Fundus an Archivmaterial des Theaterkollektivs Healing Theatre, das sich in den 90er Jahren in Köln formierte. Im Kern ihrer Arbeitsweise steht die Entwicklung von unterschiedlichen Methoden des körperlichen und sprachlichen Ausdrucks. Künstlerische Praxis ist mehr als die Darstellung einer Rolle, Schauspiel mehr als die Erfüllung von Regieanweisungen.

The project healing theatre happening – performing the archive is a performance by artists Julia Schmutz (visual artist) and Petra Weimar (actor and founder member of Healing Theatre). Recordings of productions, programmes, photographs, photocopies and rehearsal plans together form a dynamic archive – a place of encounter for contemporary artistic work.

The starting point for the performance installation is a pool of archive material related to the theatre collective Healing Theatre, which was formed in the 1990s in Cologne. At the heart of the group’s method is the development of different modes of physical and linguistic expression. Artistic practice is more than the presentation of a role; acting is more than the performance of stage directions.
