(english version below) Eva-Maria Reiner reflektiert in ihrer Arbeit, inwiefern ihr bildnerisches Schaffen Werkzeug von Mitteilungen sein kann. Ein besonderer Aspekt der Arbeiten ergibt sich aus dem Interesse an Kommunikationsstrukturen, dem Ineinandergreifen von visuellen und sprachlichen Elementen. Sie beschäftigt sich mit Schrift und Wörtern losgelöst von narrativen Praktiken.

Ausgangsmaterial der Werke sind am Computer gesetzte, am Drucker vervielfältigte und anschließend aus den Papieren geschnittene Buchstaben, Wortfragmente, Wörter oder Wortketten. Sie bilden die Basis für Papiercollagen oder sie werden in Pappuntergründen fixiert, aus denen sie hervorragen: Zungen gleich oder als raumgreifende Wellenbewegungen, als Schlaufen- und Knotenformationen. Dabei entstehen von der Künstlerin sogenannte Textfelder, die in Vitrinentürme eingefügt werden. Diese Türme entstehen durch Schichtung von Papprahmen und Glasscheiben, zwei weitere wichtige Elemente und Materialien der Arbeit von Eva-Maria Reiner. Es ergibt sich der Charakter von architektonischen wie auch von mathematisch-geometrischen Modellen, der Anschein von Notationsverfahren, die szenische Entwürfe und Bewegungsabläufe skizzieren.

Eva-Maria Reiner reflects in her work how her artistic practice can be a tool for communication. A particular aspect of her work arises from her interest in communication structures, the intertwining of visual and linguistic elements. She engages with writing and words detached from narrative practices.

The raw material of the works are letters, fragments of words, words or strings of words that are typed on a computer, reproduced using a printer, and then cut out of sheets of paper. They form the basis for paper collages or they are set on cardboard bases, protruding from them, becoming tongues or three-dimensional undulations, formations of loops and knots. What is created the artist calls ‘text fields’, which are mounted inside glass cabinets. These cabinets are formed through the layering of cardboard frames and glass panes, two more important elements and materials in Eva-Maria Reiner’s work. The result bears the character of both architectural and geometric models, and the appearance of notation practices that sketch out scenic designs and sequences of movement.
